Odd times ahead

Jumping ship
Apr. 18th, 2017 06:20 amDue to the TOS changes over on LiveJournal, I'm shutting down my LJ instance. I've ported over all content from there to this Dreamwidth instance.
I look forward to seeing you all posting over here as we move our content of what was once a very cool platform for social conversation. Alas, LJ, we hardly knew ye.
As a bit of a nostalgic note... it seems I've had my LJ account for over 13 years now. Sad to see it go...

Dec. 7th, 2009 06:42 pmAh LiveJournal, how well you've treated me lo these many years. Alas, I have found a new mistress, one who has been with me for years as well, but one which will do more for ME.
Yes, LiveJournal, I am talking about Wordpress...
No, not the wordpress.com site, but rather the WordPress php tool which I have installed and customized on so many sites. Local control, full customization, hosted on my own servers... Yes, that's the wordpress I want. And I have it, over 3 fold now.
But fear not, LiveJournal, I'll still keep you on the side... it's just my main posts will be on http://www.waywardcelt.com now... or maybe http://www.3drunkencelts.com, depending on the content. I'll still visit you, LiveJournal, like I always have, loading your friends page to see what others are talking about, commenting randomly when I am moved to do so... I just won't be posting here as much, if anymore. Besides, I know you like it when I just watch; you're a bit dirty like that, aren't you LiveJournal?

Ok, so this is how my 'vacation' went:
Right off the bat, let me say that the time spent at war with friends was well worth the effort.... I had not been looking forward to this war as I had others. No sense of excitement for the tasting was washing over me, nor was I looking towards the 1700+mile roundtrip to get there and back. It wasn't until the Sunday before when I figured I was committed to it, since that was when I had packed my bike in preparation. And it wasn't until Tuesday before that I was 100% sure I was going...
( Be warned, this post is as long as the 1700 miles I rode to make it. )

- 17:55 got the roofing work done before the rain, trees/bushes trimmed, and the backyard light replaced. Now it is time for a Syrah and a tri-tip!

- 07:22 House update: it appears that all rot/infestation was cut out and new pressure treated lumber placed anew. Corner is now buttoned up tight.
- 08:15 Mac is also now back and working somewhat. Keyboard/mouse issue was due to my own idiocy: extension came unplugged whilst troubleshooting.
